Josh Allen threw three touchdown passes Sunday and the Buffalo Bills avenged a Week 1 loss to the New York Jets with a 32-6 victory in Orchard Park. N.Y.
Playing his first game under new offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who replaced the fired Ken Dorsey on Tuesday, Allen completed 20 of 32 passes with an interception for 275 yards. Buffalo (6-5) stayed 1 1/2 games behind AFC East leader Miami.
New York quarterback Zach Wilson was 7 of 15 for 81 yards with a touchdown and interception before he was benched for backup Tim Boyle late in the third quarter. Boyle couldn't generate a spark, either, going 7 of 14 for 33 yards with an interception.
The Jets fell to 4-6 for the year and have dropped three straight games, scoring only 24 points in that span. Not even their stout defense, which has kept them in games while the offense has failed to produce, could stop the bleeding this time.
Tyler Bass booted 48, 30 and 33-yard field goals on the Bills' first three possessions for a 9-0 lead at the 11:26 mark of the second quarter. Buffalo made it 16-0 when Allen found James Cook for a 5-yard touchdown pass with 3:03 left.
New York appeared to grab momentum with 45 seconds remaining when Wilson ended the team's marathon string of possessions without a touchdown, finding Breece Hall on a 9-yard scoring strike. However, the Jets couldn't carry it over to the second half.
Allen guided Buffalo on a 75-yard drive to open the second 30 minutes, hitting Ty Johnson on a 28-yard touchdown pass with 10:34 in the third quarter. Allen made the game a rout with an 81-yard connection to Khalil Shakir with 6:29 remaining in the period.
Bass tacked on a 50-yard field goal that capped the scoring with 5:16 left in the game.
New York managed only 155 total yards and controlled the ball for just over 23 minutes. It finished the game with four turnovers.
