Frederik Andersen made 24 saves and the Carolina Hurricanes boosted their winning streak to six games by beating the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 on Friday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Taylor Hall, Jack Roslovic and Jalen Chatfield scored for the Hurricanes before Eric Robinson added an empty-net goal. Jesperi Kotkaniemi had two assists.
Andersen has recorded three consecutive victories following a personal four-game losing streak. He was tested with 14 shots in the third period, when Detroit closed within a goal.
Alex DeBrincat and Michael Rasmussen scored for the Red Wings, who've lost seven of their last eight games. Petr Mrazek, a former Carolina goalie, stopped 28 shots.
Mrazek was in his second game this week with the Red Wings since he rejoined the team in a trade from the Chicago Blackhawks last week.
Roslovic, who has his third three-game points streak of the season, also had an assist for his first two-point game since late December.
The Hurricanes completed a 4-0 homestand before playing on the road for more than a week coming up. That winning string includes three games since the trade deadline when the roster underwent changes.
The Red Wings had the only first-period goal, with DeBrincat finding the net for the eighth time in the last 12 games. DeBrincat has 14 goals in 24 career games against the Hurricanes.
Hall, Roslovic and Chatfield scored in the opening 12:18 of the second period.
Hall has 11 goals this season, with two of those in his 16 games since joining the Hurricanes in a trade from Chicago.
Robinson's goal came with 1:11 left after the Red Wings had threatened to pull even. The Hurricanes are 31-0-3 when leading through two periods in games this season.
It was Carolina's second victory this month against the Red Wings, who lost 2-1 at home March 4.
