They have hit the ground running in this 2025 offseason and, as we all know Howie Roseman well, you don't know when he's going to slow down.
Slow is not in his nature.
The Eagles have brought in more than a dozen new players to the team, and Roseman, the team's Executive Vice President/General Manager, discussed each player and what he brings to Philadelphia.
Acquiring OL Kenyon Green from Houston:"Here's a guy who just turned 24 years old, who we had done a lot of work on coming into the 2022 NFL Draft. We felt like he had tools in his body, great character, and I think he'd be the first to admit that his career hasn't gotten off to the start that he'd like it to have, but we feel like he's got a chance to kind of reinvent himself and start over here in Philadelphia and that will be the opportunity for him."
Acquiring QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson from Cleveland:"It starts with Kenny Pickett and the amazing teammate he was here and the year that he had as an Eagle and helping us win a Championship and, really, achieving a lifelong dream of not only winning a Championship, but doing it in an Eagles uniform. The Browns were aggressive in trying to acquire him and the opportunity that he has in Cleveland is probably better, certainly, than he has in Philadelphia. It was kind of a win-win situation there. In the course of the conversations, the window opened to also bring in a developmental quarterback in Dorian Thompson-Robinson and that was something we were interested in."
Signing RB A.J. Dillon:"Talented guy, out last year with an injury, seems healthy, determined to succeed. He's a great complement to the guys we have here obviously, Saquon is in a league of his own and we drafted Will Shipley last year and we're very confident in Will with what he did last year as a personal protector on punts having never made a tackle in his life and playing as well as he played on special teams, and then when he had time on the field at running back he had a couple of long runs and we are excited to see what he can do."
Signing LB Joshua Uche:"This is a guy that we've had our eye on for some time. We were interested in him as a free agent last year and he decided to go back to New England. At the trade deadline, he was traded and we had some interest there at that time, too, but felt we had a good rotation going with the edge group. Joshua is a talented guy with a great work ethic who has shown the ability to get to the quarterback."
Signing TE Harrison Bryant:"A lot of these guys, when they hit free agency, you've done a lot of work on them as they enter the NFL Draft and we did a lot of work on Harrison at that time. He has a dual-skill set in that he can block and he can run routes and catch. He was probably known a little more for that part of his game when he played at Florida Atlantic. You see him in some of the positions that we ask our tight ends to be in here and the roles that we ask them to play."
Signing CB Adoree' Jackson:"Another guy that we've had a lot of conversations about to bring to Philadelphia through the years and we've always had tremendous respect for his skill set. The first thing you think about with Adoree' is his ability to run. He's an extremely twitched-up, fast guy with really great movement and ball skills. I've said this to him, that I don't know that we've seen the best of him in his career yet, so we get excited to get those kinds of guys who have that kind of talent in their body and are determined to come here and work hard, so it's a great opportunity for him and for us."
Signing LS Charley Hughlett:"This guy was somebody who had tremendous success in Cleveland a Pro Bowl-level player, a captain, and you see when he walks in that he has a big presence. It was a good opportunity to bring Charley in here."
Signing OLB Patrick Johnson:"Bringing Patrick back is something we are really happy about it's interesting that he comes back and he's the oldest guy in that (edge) room. We've always been impressed with Pat as a player and as a person and he can not only bring some leadership, but he can make his mark on special teams and, as we saw in the preseason last year, on defense he was outstanding. He made the 53-man roster and then we had to let him go and the Giants picked him up and we missed that role he can play the edge, he can move inside if you're in a jam, and really be a core member of special teams."
Signing RB/KR Avery Williams:"He is a five-phase special teamer. He can come off the edge and block kicks, he's a kickoff returner, he's a very reliable punt returner, he can be a personal protector, he can be on kickoff (coverage). He has tremendous character. On your best teams, you're always going to have a group of role players with tremendous character who really kind of show the way to your younger players and we're really hoping that is the case for Avery."
Signing TE Kylen Granson:"You're always looking at guys who remind you of people, and we had a tight end in the past that we had a lot of success with in Trey Burton, and Kylen has a similar body type and similar athleticism and we thought that about him coming in through the NFL Draft (2021, fourth-round pick by Indianapolis) and we think that about him now."
Signing OLB Azeez Ojulari:"We obviously know him well with us playing the Giants twice each season. He played at Georgia and we've got a bunch of guys from there who have played well for us. Azeez fits in right away. He's got the ability to rush the passer and he has a lot of the physical and intangible traits that we look for and we're excited to bring him here and hopefully help him play his best football."
Signing OL Kendall Lamm:"Experienced swing tackle who helps us. We lost Fred Johnson (who signed with Jacksonville in free agency), who played a bunch of games for us. Kendall plays both right and left tackle, he has tremendous character, really good athlete, and we were excited to get him."
Agreeing to terms with OL Matt Pryor:"We're obviously familiar with him, having drafted him in 2018. We know what Matt can do, that is he versatile and he knows what Jeff Stoutland (run game coordinator/offensive line coach) wants. Good to have him back here."
