JACKSONVILLEThis is a good group with some special at the top.
Tyler Warren is a big reason that's true but if the Penn State senior is considered by many the top name of the2025 NFL Drafttight end class, he's far from the only star.
There is talent and potential throughout this draft at an increasingly key position.
"It's a really, really good class," NFL and Jaguars Media Draft analyst Bucky Brooks said.
While Warren long has been considered a Top 10 selection, many analysts now consider Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at a similar level.
And while Warren and Loveland stand out as potential first-round selections, multiple players at the position could be selected on Days 1-2 with players such Harold Fannin Jr. of Bowling Green and Mason Taylor of Louisiana State projected as possible second-round selections.
Warren finished seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2024, catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed 26 times for 218 yards and four touchdowns and completed three of six passes with a touchdown.
"He's right in that mix to be a Top 10 pick."
Brooks said Loveland, like Warren, "for sure grades as a first-rounder." He caught 56 passes for 582 yards and five touchdowns in 2024 after catching 45 passes for 649 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.
"He can catch the ball over the middle and is a throwback at the position. He reminds me of what [San Francisco 49ers tight end George] Kittle has become."
Brooks called Loveland "more a true flex tight end."
"On the other side, you're looking at someone who just loves getting open and touching the ball, making it happen and doing it from a variety of mismatch spots."
Brooks called Fannin a "true H-back" and called Taylor the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor a "really good player who's not going to test well as an athlete."
Brooks added, "It's a really deep class. Some of those second-round guys can step in and have success. If you're looking for a tight end, this is the year to really load up."
