Cal Raleigh and Randy Arozarena clubbed back-to-back homers in the ninth to tie the game and Arozarena drove in two more in a four-run 10th to rally the visiting Seattle Mariners past the Cincinnati Reds 11-7 on Thursday in the rubber game of the series.
Reds closer Emilio Pagan had been a perfect 4-for-4 in save chances, but Raleigh took him deep to right to open the ninth and Arozarena tied it with a shot to left.
The Mariners then took the lead in the 10th when J.P. Crawford singled with none out and runners at the corners against Graham Ashcraft (0-1). Arozarena later doubled home a pair of runs for insurance, and Mitch Garver scored on a field error by Elly De La Cruz.
Andres Munoz pitched a scoreless 10th for Seattle in a non-save situation.
Cincinnati's Jake Fraley, who finished 3-for-5, belted his second career grand slam in the bottom of the eighth to stake the Reds to a 7-5 lead. Fraley victimized reliever Eduard Bazardo with one out after Cincinnati loaded the bases on a single and two walks with one out.
Seattle right-hander Casey Legumina (1-0) came on for the ninth and retired the side in order to earn the win against his former team.
Seattle improved to 21-6 all-time against Cincinnati, with the .778 winning percentage representing the best mark against any single opponent in MLB history.
The Reds took a 2-0 lead on a two-run homer by Austin Hays in the first inning against Seattle emergency starter Emerson Hancock, who was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday when scheduled starter Bryan Woo was pushed back to make the start Friday in Toronto.
Hancock settled down after the home run to hold the Reds scoreless in the next four innings while the Seattle bats got to Cincinnati starter Brady Singer. Hancock allowed only the two runs on five hits over five innings, striking out four and walking none.
Luke Raley belted a game-tying two-run homer and Dylan Moore finished off a torrid series with two more hits as the Mariners built leads of 4-2 and 5-3. Moore was 7-for-14 in the three-game set.
Seattle had numerous chances to build their lead in the middle innings but managed to go only 3-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
