FRISCO, TexasCowboys players participated in the 12th annual Reliant Home Run Derby on Tuesday, with each hit and home run generating money for the Salvation Army and other local charity organizations.

In total, the 10 Cowboys participants generated $76,600 for the Salvation Army and $113,700 total for charity. This year marked the event passing the $1 million mark of total donations to charity since the first home run derby occurred back in 2012.

Cowboys punter Bryan Anger was the winner for the second straight year, raising a grand total of $13,200 for the Salvation Army thanks to his efforts. Jake Ferguson followed with $12,400, Jalen Tolbert with $12,200 and CJ Goodwin with 10,500. Trent Sieg, Micah Parsons, Terence Steele, Osa Odighizuwa, DaRon Bland, and Tyler Smith rounded out the other participants for the Cowboys. Quarterback Dak Prescott did not participate in the home run derby, but did throw out the first pitch at the event.

"This is a cool event," Anger said. "Raising money for charities is always an amazing thing to do, and we get to have fun doing it...."

"Probably the most unique and cool event that I've done as a football player, and this is year 14 so, coolest thing that I've done, it's really fun."

Charity events and work are something that the Cowboys involve themselves in frequently as an organization, and it's something that not only benefits the community in the Dallas area, but the players too.

"I love that the team puts on stuff like this," Odighizuwa said. "It's pretty easy to come out here and support good causes, and just being able to represent our own organization as well is pretty dope and just getting that support from the team is awesome."

As competitors, all 10 Cowboys that participated wanted to win for bragging rights in the locker room, but at the end of the day, everyone wanted to raise money for a great cause and bond with the community and each other.

"It's all about the cause," Ferguson said. "To be out here with these people, with the fans and then also our teammates being able to let loose, have fun a little bit, that's what it's all about."

And so Anger will go into the 2026 derby as the back-to-back champion in search of a three peat, while he and his teammates also aim to raise even more money for the Salvation Army and other charities.
