The Chargers are hoping to strike gold with a Round 2 wide receiver for the second year in a row.
The Bolts selected Mississippi wide receiver Tre Harris with the No. 55 overall pick in Round 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft, a move that gives Justin Herbert another weapon in the passing game.
Ladd McConkey a 2024 second-round pick was stellar in Year 1 as he set Chargers single-season rookie records with 82 catches for 1,149 yards.
Quentin Johnston took a sizable step in Year 2, and reuniting with Mike Williams in free agency gives the Bolts a veteran presence as an outside receiver.
Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz has been aggressive in adding pieces to surround Herbert with as much talent as possible.
Harris should give the Bolts a boost right away, especially with his size and frame of 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. He averaged a whopping 17.2 yards per catch in 2024.
He should be able to learn under Williams in 2025 and could turn into one of Herbert's favorite targets on the outside and down the field if he reaches his potential.
Harris was a Second-Team All-American in 2024 after leading the team in receptions (60), receiving yards (1,030) and ranking second in receiving touchdowns (7).
The receiver finished his Ole Miss career with 2,015 yards and 15 touchdowns on 114 receptions in 20 games, becoming one of two in SEC history to average 100 yards per game across a career (103.3 per game).
Harris won't be asked to be the Chargers No. 1 passing option in 2025.
But McConkey developed a quick rapport with Herbert in 2024 and proved that some rookies can make an immediate impact at wide receiver right away.
Harris now has the potential to do the same and develop into a vital piece of the Chargers offensive puzzle.
