The Ravens began their first three-day OTA session (May 27-29) on Tuesday, with Wednesday's session open to the media.

Participation is voluntary and there will be no live contact, but the 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills will provide more insight into position competitions and player development.

Here are key storylines to watch as OTAs get underway:

Will the depth chart gain greater clarity?

There are not many starting positions up for grabs. But how will the cornerback rotation unfold behind Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins? Which safeties will step up after Ar'Darius Washington's injury? Will inside linebacker Trenton Simpson be challenged for a starting position next to Roquan Smith? The answers to a few of those questions could begin to unfold during OTAs.

Will Tyler Loop get off to a strong start with the vets?

There will be plenty of eyes on Loop, the first kicker ever drafted by the Ravens who is expected to replace Justin Tucker. Loop had astrong debut at rookie minicampand wants to build on that as the Ravens move forward with a new kicker for the first time in 12 years. Undrafted rookie John Hoyland of Wyoming will also provide competition.

Malaki Starks will take another step.

As the Ravens' first-round pick, Starks is expected to make an immediate impact in the secondary next to All-Pro Kyle Hamilton. The quicker Starks gets comfortable, the faster he'll be able to play instinctively and take advantage of his impressive skillset.

Which rookies will shine?

Starks is one of 11 rookies in the Ravens' draft class, and undrafted rookies will also be looking to stand out. Second-round pass rusher Mike Green also has a chance to make an early impact. Safety Beau Brade from Maryland made the 53-man roster last year as an undrafted rookie. OTAs will provide this year's rookies with a chance to get a leg up.

What will version 3.0 of Todd Monken's attack look like?

What wrinkles will Monken add after the Ravens became the first team in NFL history with 40 passing touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns? That's a tough act to follow, but Lamar Jackson has already done work with Zay Flowers in South Florida, Derrick Henry says he'sraring to go after his contract extension, and Monken has a new weapon in veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Monken is fond of saying that "it's the Ravens' offense, not his offense." But Monken has spent months thinking about version 3.0, and OTAs will provide a chance for players and coaches to get on the same page.

Will any veterans look dramatically different?

Jackson surprised people last year at OTAs whenhe arrived noticeably thinner. Will anyone else look thinner, more muscular, or perhaps sport a fresh hairstyle or distinctive new look?
