JACKSONVILLEThat's a wrap an offseason wrap, at least.

That made Thursday a day of transition of sorts at theMiller Electric Center, with third and final day of 2025 minicamp ending the '25 Jaguars offseason program. The Jaguars now break for a little more than a month before 2025 Training Camp.

First, a break. Then, the real stuff.

"The work doesn't stop,"Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen said.

Coen continued in that vein Thursday following Day 3 practice that while the next few weeks are about family and rest, it's also about being ready for what's next. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence also spoke to the media following Thursday's hour-and-15-minute non-padded practice, speaking of the progress made in the Jaguars' two-month-plus offseason program.

"It was really good," Lawrence said. "There were some good days. Some days were a little sloppier, and that's just part of it, especially with a new system. Everyone's playing together kind of for the first time for a lot of us, so overall I thought it was really good.

"We learned a lot, took some really big steps of improvement throughout OTAs (organized team activities), and I'm proud of the guys, how they worked. Everyone worked their tail off all offseason, really pushed ourselves.

"There are a lot of times where this is a period where some people can kind of take it easy and I felt like every day we really came out here, busted our ass and really were intentional about what we were doing."

Added Coen, in his first season as the Jaguars' head coach, "We've got a lot of work to do this summer. We have to come back in the best possible physical shape coming into training camp and not use training camp to get in shape. We have to hit the ground running and be ready to go once we get in here.

"Ultimately they have some work to do this summer, and that's the message."

Coen also on Thursday discussed progress made in the last two months and called his first offseason program as a head coach "cool." He said the while one goal of the offseason was to "establish a foundation of fundamentals, techniques, alignment and assignment," the ultimate goal was to gain trust of players.

"That's what this whole phase was for us as coaches to implement a foundation but also to get to know these guys a little more on a personal level," Coen said. "Ultimately, they're not going to go do what you say just because you're a coach.

"You have to build a relationship and a foundation in order for these guys to trust us."

Coen, too, said he saw on Thursday the improvement he wanted offensively after a Wednesday practice in which the defense outplayed the offense.

"Specifically offensively, I felt like it was just a better overall day," he said. "It was just less balls on the ground in general, less procedures, less flags thrown on the ground today from our lovely referees that came from the NFL. That was great.

"We wanted to leave here with good momentum and confidence that these guys can go and have and take through the offseason program."

NOTABLE MINICAMP MOMENTS

• Lawrence practiced with a sleeve on his right (throwing) arm this week, with Coen saying earlier in the week the idea was to address general arm soreness. Lawrence underwent surgery on his non-throwing shoulder last December, not throwing again until shortly before the offseason program began in April. Lawrence said the last time he went so long without throwing likely was when he underwent surgery on his non-throwing shoulder in the offseason before his 2021 rookie season. "I started throwing a couple of weeks before we started the offseason program, but then we jumped into practice and heavy volume," he said. "Over time, you have to adjust and get in shape for that, so just a little bit of soreness. The compression helps just relieve some of that, but that's all it is so nothing I'm concerned about."
• Another day, another wrinkle for Travis Hunter. The No. 2 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter on Thursday worked on both offense and defense in the same day for the first time in the '25 offseason. Hunter started the day working as a wide receiver, then practiced as a cornerback for several repetitions in a late session. "That's definitely what we have to build toward for training camp and obviously in-season, knowing during practice he's going to have to do both," Coen said. "He wants to do it. It's not something he can't handle. He wants to do it more. He wants more and that's a good thing. Ultimately, we have to also protect him from himself at times. But that's absolutely the plan moving forward."
