Kyle McCord grew up in nearby Mount Laurel, N.J., as a huge Eagles fan who dreamed of one day playing at Lincoln Financial Field. After playing in high school at St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia, McCord played collegiately at Ohio State and then at Syracuse before the Eagles selected him in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He enters a talented quarterback room and is eager to improve and show what he can do.
In our 3 Questions With, McCord talks about taking the right steps and someday playing in front of his hometown fans
McCord:"Just being a sponge and learning as much as possible. Putting my head down and getting to work. It's hard to project what the whole year is going to look like and how it's going to play out, so I'm staying in the moment and putting my head down and working every day. All of the outside stuff being home and all of that that isn't the focus at all. This is a business and I'm here to perform. I'm here to be the best version of myself every single day."
McCord:"I'd say just a lot more free time, honestly. This is all football and no classes, so that's something different. In college, it's a pretty regimented schedule and you go from one thing to the next and you're always around the team. The NFL is going to be extremely busy and fast and you have to be on point all the time, but there is also more free time. So it's on you to do the work on your own time and I'm extremely excited to do that. I love this game and I want to be the hardest-working guy out there, and a lot of that comes with what you do during your free time."
McCord:"I think first game at the Linc. I grew up going to games as a fan, so to be out there playing, performing, in front of the people I sat with and cheered with, that's going to be pretty surreal. The whole thing since the draft has felt that way and it has taken some time to settle in, but now it's just football. The best of the best. I love every bit of this and to go out there and have a chance to play and show what I can do in the stadium I grew up going to and rooting for the Eagles, that is going to be so much fun."
