The Giants wrapped up their spring work with their second and final minicamp practice. It was an abbreviated practice about an hour long with no competitive team portions. Wet fields moved practice indoors for the second straight day.

Here's what I saw from the sideline:

* While there was no team competition, there were three separate 7-on-7 periods between the offense and defense. The first potential score during practice came on a throw to the back of the end zone to Tyrone Tracy Jr., but the pass was not completely controlled until after his right foot left the ground and he was ruled out of bounds. I only bring up the play because it is a continuation of the heavy involvement of the running backs in the passing game throughout OTA's and minicamp.

* A couple of plays later, Wilson hit Dalen Cambre for a touchdown along the back line. Cambre would catch another pass from Dart in a later part of practice, but he was stopped at the one-yard line by Raheem Layne before he was able to get into the end zone. On the play before the stop of Cambre, Layne played great defense, staying in front of Da'Quan Felton and intercepting a pass headed to the right side of the end zone. There is an open competition for the 4th safety spot and Layne has flashed throughout the spring.

* Jameis Winston connected on a touchdown, finding tight end Greg Dulcich near the back of the end zone. Winston put the ball high to take advantage of Dulcich's length, and he plucked it out of the air for the score.

* Jaxson Dart threw two consecutive touchdowns in 7-on-7's. The first came on a play where he held the ball before rolling to his right to find Lil'Jordan Humphrey who separated late in the back right corner of the end zone. On the next play, he found wide receiver Montrell Washington on a quick out, just getting it past the defensive back.

* Tommy DeVito completed the quartet of quarterbacks that threw touchdowns at practice. He hit Beaux Collins on a slant over the middle for a score.

* The defensive play of practice came on the final few snaps, when a deep ball down the right sideline careened off the helmet of defensive back Art Green and went high in the air. Dane Belton, who continues to be a magnet for the football, ran underneath it and grabbed the interception right before getting his feet in on the sideline.

* It was a successful set of spring practices, which serve as a passing camp, and a chance for all the players to work on installing the offense. They will now have about five weeks off before returning in late July for training camp. It takes about four or five days for the pads to come on after the players arrive, which is when real football starts getting played and we can start figuring out exactly what this Giants team might look like this season.
