Jonah Coleman rushed for 111 yards and five touchdowns as Washington cruised to a 70-10 victory against UC Davis on Saturday night in Seattle, equaling the school's modern-day record for most points in a game.
Demond Williams Jr. completed 16 of 25 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown for the Huskies (2-0) and also ran eight times for 64 yards and a score. Adam Mohammed rushed for 95 yards and a TD and Denzel Boston made five receptions for 50 yards and returned a punt 78 yards for a score.
Coleman, who carried 15 times, found the end zone on runs of 15, 1, 9, 7 and 5 yards. The senior's five rushing TDs tied for second in a single game in school history, matching Corey Dillon against UCLA in 1996 and Hugh McElhenny versus Washington State in 1950. The record of seven was set by Ervin Daily against Whitman in 1919.
Washington amassed 628 yards of total offense (324 on the ground), scoring TDs on all 10 possessions, while holding the Aggies (1-1), ranked No. 5 in the Football Championship Subdivision, to 218 yards.
UC Davis freshman quarterback Caden Pinnick completed 8 of 16 passes for 50 yards with one touchdown and one interception before being relieved at the half.
Coleman had 80 yards and four scores as the Huskies built a 42-10 halftime lead.
Coleman scored on the Huskies' first two drives, making it 14-0 with 8:28 left in the first quarter.
UC Davis' Hunter Ridley kicked a 45-yard field goal before Williams scampered 8 yards up the middle on the second play of the second quarter to put Washington up 21-3.
Coleman's 9-yard run extended the lead before the Aggies found the end zone on a 1-yard pass from Pinnick to Matteo Perez.
Coleman responded with a 7-yard TD run before Boston's punt return with 1:43 left in the quarter completed the scoring in the half.
Coleman scored from 5 yards out on the opening possession of the second half to make it 49-10.
Williams later hit Dezmen Roebuck with a 47-yard scoring strike.
Huskies backup QB Kai Horton scored on a 10-yard run early in the fourth quarter and Mohammed added a 4-yard TD run to cap the scoring.
