Miami (Ohio) men's basketball coach Travis Steele signed a contract extension through the 2033-34 season, the school announced Wednesday.

The deal follows the most successful season in program history. The RedHawks completed a 31-0 regular season and finished 32-2 after making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years.

Steele, 44, is 84-48 through four seasons at Miami (Ohio). His career record of 154-98 includes four seasons at Xavier from 2018-22.

'My family and I are extremely grateful for the contract extension,' said Steele, the 2025-26 MAC Coach of the Year. 'Miami has created a lot of happiness for us, and we are excited to continue to build the Miami Men's Basketball Program.'

Steele guided the RedHawks into the Top 25 poll for the first time since 1999, climbing as high as No. 19. Their perfect season ended with an 87-83 upset by UMass in the MAC tournament quarterfinals.

Earning a No. 11 seed for the NCAA Tournament, Miami (Ohio) defeated SMU 89-79 in the First Four before falling 78-56 in the first round against Tennessee.

The RedHawks' 32 wins topped the school single-season mark of 25 wins established the previous campaign.

'Coming off two consecutive record breaking seasons for Miami Basketball, I am thrilled to announce that we have signed Coach Steele to an extended contract to continue coaching here at Miami,' athletic director David Sayler said.
