CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin believes the Bolts should look to move up if a top wide receiver is available

The homestretch of the NFL Draft is here, which means analysts continue to get in their final predictions ahead it kicking off next week.
And while it is near impossible to guess how the board ends up shaking out for the Chargers at No. 22 overall, CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin took on an exercise of looking at all 32 teams and examining whether they should look to be on themove or stay putin this year's draft.
Of course, who's available as the team's pick inches closer next Thursday is yet to be seen, but he believes the Bolts should be aggressive on Day 1 and try to move up if a certain scenario comes to be.
The CBS Sports analyst opined the Chargers should look to trade up if the opportunity to get a top offensive pass catching option, specifically a wide receiver, is one that shakes out in Round 1.
Benjamin wrote:
Los Angeles could use a wide receiver A leap up might help them secure a top prospect like Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka.
A draft day trade is something that while the Chargers have done in its history, it hasn't occurred in some time.
The Bolts have not traded their original first round pick since the 2015 NFL Draft, when they moved up two spots in the middle of the first round.
You have to go back even further to see the last time they moved down in the first round, with the last coming in 2003 when they moved down 15 spots to No. 30 overall.
But if the Chargers were to move up, like Benjamin said, for the first time in a number of years, an offensive weapon is a popular pick in recent projections.
The most recentChargers Mock Draft Trackerhas the team taking an offensive pass catcher in 12 out of the 16, with half of them being split on wide receiver and tight end.
