With 10 picks in the draft, the Browns could add pass-catching talent to the roster

This time next week, the 2025 NFL Draft will be underway, and the Browns will be in the midst of adding young talent to the roster.
With 10 total picks, Cleveland can look to add prospects at numerous positions, address areas of need and bring in depth to others. One group the Browns could look at is pass catchers whether in a receiver or a tight end.
Currently, the Browns tight end room features David Njoku, Blake Whiteheart, Brenden Bates and Tre' McKitty. Their receiving corps is led by Jerry Jeudy and consists of David Bell, DeAndre Carter, Kaden Davis, Jamari Thrash, Cedric Tillman and Michael Woods II.
NFL Network's Cynthia Frelund highlighted three players who could fit that need for Cleveland WR Emeka Egbuka, TE Harold Fannin Jr. and WR/CB Travis Hunter.
Egbuka played all four seasons at Ohio State and totaled 205 receptions for 2,868 receiving yads and 24 touchdowns. He also added 24 carries for 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
"Emeka Egbuka joins a long and distinguished list of Ohio State receivers with college production worthy of a pick on Thursday," Frelund said. "There are prospects who generate separation in college due to raw speed and there are prospects who separate based on route running precision. Egbuka has the body control, ball tracking and extremely precise route running traits that forecast to translate extremely well, especially out of the slot at the NFL level. Think slot alignment plus yards after the catch as Egbuka's elevator pitch."
Fannin brings a local connection to the Browns, as he played three seasons at Bowling Green. In those three seasons, he totaled 180 receptions for 2,396 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns. He also added 33 carries for 159 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
"No tight end was targeted more than him last season at 150 targets which he turned into the single season record for receptions and yards at the position with 117 for 1,555 yards along with 10 touchdowns," Frelund said. "My favorite stat of his is that he forced 15 more tackles than the next closest tight end, who happens to be Penn State's Tyler Warren."
To round out the group, Frelund highlighted a two-way player in Hunter. As a receiver, Hunter recorded 153 receptions for 1,979 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in his two seasons at Colorado. He also added two carries for five rushing yards and one touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, Hunter recorded 66 tackles, three tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 16 passes defensed and one forced fumble.
"There is maybe no more intriguing prospect in this class or in the past several than Travis Hunter, the two-way star out of Colorado that I am classifying as a pass catcher with defensive back upside based on the latest information from his college coach Deion Sanders who knows a little something about being multiple," Frelund said. "Hunter's ability to create separation after the catch using his speed, change direction without losing speed and work in space all rank in the top 95th percentile of a 10-season sample, per Computer Vision that measures game speeds with pads on. You'll notice these traits also translate well to the other side of the ball. Hunter had the second most earned first downs last season with 53 and his quarterback had the fifth best passer rating when targeting him in all of FBS."
