The Bengals hosted the Girls High School Flag Football Championship presented by Secret at Paycor Stadium on Saturday.
The championship event celebrated the second season of Girls High School Flag Football in Cincinnati. The 2025 season featured 350 student-athletes from 20 local schools, up from six participating schools in 2024.
The day kicked off with a recognition ceremony for graduating seniors and a group photo with Bengals players and Who Dey.
Mount Notre Dame won the championship game for the second year in a row and advanced to the Girls High School Flag Football State Championship hosted by the Bengals and Browns on Sunday, May 18 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon.
"It's amazing to offer the opportunity to play football to women," said Mount Notre Dame Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator Abby Renneker. "As a lifelong Bengals fan, it's crazy to be able to be on this field and win my own championship. The energy was high, and it's something I will never forget."
Mount Notre Dame will be joined by tournament runner-up Badin and semifinal participants Seton and Shroder at the state championship event. The four Cincinnati teams will compete against four teams from Cleveland for a chance to be crowned state champions.
"It's great that we're growing the game. We're getting girls to learn and understand the basics of football," said Bengals Director of Community Engagement Taylor Conklin. "Over half of the girls who participated in this tournament had never played in a high school sport before. And for a lot of the girls, it's their first time playing flag football. We're not only growing the game, but we're giving women more opportunities to participate in athletics."
The Bengals are investing to bring football to more women through the fast-growing sport of flag football. Through partnerships with USA Football and NIKE, the Bengals provide equipment and uniforms to local high schools in addition to opportunities for stipends and access to girls flag themed events leading up to and following the regular season. Together with NFL FLAG, NFHS and other league partners, the Bengals are focused on providing a pathway to sanctioning under the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) for Girls High School Flag Football.
