NASHVILLEThe Titans hit the field on Tuesday for their fifth day of organized team activities.

Today's OTA was open to reporters.

Here's a look at some observations from today's session:

-The Titans worked on third down periods in both 7-on-7 and team periods, and the quarterbacks weren't afraid to chuck it downfield.

-Quarterback Cam Ward got off to a slow start, completing just one of his first four passes in the 7-on-7 period. Ward then completed six straight passes, and he finished off the period 7-of-11. Ward was 3-of-4 in the first team period, and 2-of-6 in the second team period, making him 5-of-10 in the two team periods combined. Overall, Ward was 12-of-21 in the 7-on-7 and team periods combined on Tuesday, and in the two open OTAs combined he's 23-of-38 overall in the 7-on-7 (15-21) and team (8-17) periods combined. Ward on Tuesday made some accurate tosses in the middle of the field, and he showed off his arm strength with some of the throws. One of his best throws was a strike to receiver Jha'Quan Jackson sprinting across the field. Ward missed receiver Calvin Ridley on a deep ball, but he was on target with a deep ball to receiver James Proche II on the very next play. Proche couldn't haul in the catch, however, and punished himself with push-ups.

Ward talked to reporters after practice.

-Ward and receiver Xavier Restrepo have great chemistry from their days at the University of Miami, and it was on full display on Tuesday. Ward connected with Restrepo on a bullet across the middle early, and he hit Restrepo again in a team period with cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. on his hip.

-Restrepo had three catches on the day, which tied for the most with tight end Chig Okonkwo, running back Tony Pollard and receiver Colton Dowell.

-Mason Kinsey, David Martin-Robinson, Calvin Ridley, Jha'Quan Jackson and James Proche II all had two catches.

-Brownlee later made a nice break-up on a ball intended for Dowell.

-Quarterback Will Levis has been mostly accurate in his opportunities. Levis was 4-of-5 in the 7-on-7 periods, and he's now 9-of-10 in 7-on-7 in the two open OTAs so far. Levis was 1-of-4 in the team periods, making him 5-of-9 on the day. In the two open practices, Levis is a combined 11-of-17 overall 9-of-10 in 7-on-7 and 2-of-7 in team periods.

-Cornerback Marcus Harris had a nice break-up on a Ward pass intended for Mason Kinsey.

-Dowell made some nice catches on Tuesday, including a bullet from Ward across the middle. Dowell did have one drop on a Levis pass.

-Cornerback Amani Oruwariye had a nice break-up on another Ward pass intended for Kinsey.

-Cornerback Gabe Jeudy-Lally keeps making plays he had another PBU himself.

-Quarterback Brandon Allen was 2-of-2 in 7-on-7 and 2-of-4 in the team periods.

-Quarterback Tim Boyle was 2-of-2 in 7-on-7 and 3-of-4 in the team periods. Boyle connected with Ridley on a bullet across the middle.

-Running back Tony Pollard showed a nice burst on a few runs.

-Receiver Van Jefferson has looked good to me so far.

-Linebacker Anfernee Orji of Vanderbilt nearly picked off Allen, on a pass intended for Jackson.

-Safety Xavier Woods had a nice break-up on a pass intended for rookie tight end Gunnar Helm.

-When tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson committed a false start penalty, John Ojukwu replaced him.

-Safety Mike Brown was in good coverage on a deep ball to Ridley.

-Tight end David Martin Robinson had a nice one-handed catch.

-Kicker Joey Slye was 6-of-7 on field goals on Tuesday, making kicks from 34, 37, 41, 47, 48 and 54 yards. He was wide left in a kick from 45 yards out. In the two open OTAs so far, Slye is 12-of-14.

-Defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat, who was not on the field during the open OTA last week, was on the practice field and working on Tuesday.

-Receiver Treylon Burks worked in individual period on Tuesday, and appeared to do more compared to last week. Coach Brian Callahan said Burks is still rehabbing and not yet 100 percent, but Burks is clearly making strides.

-Defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, guard Kevin Zeitler, cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, safety Amani Hooker, and linebacker Curtis Jacobs did not practice.

-Receiver Mason Kinsey and linebacker Otis Reese left practice early.

-Center Lloyd Cushenberry, safety Kevin Winston Jr and running back Kalel Mullings worked on a side field.

-Receiver Tyler Lockett was spotted working on the JUGS machine early, but he didn't practice.
