The rain may have forced the Giants indoors for the second consecutive day, but it certainly did not limit the action.
Players on both sides of the ball came up with some big plays at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center Tuesday.
Here is everything that happened during OTA No. 8.
The first touchdown of the day came during 7-on-7 drills. With the ball set up inside 20-yard line, Russell Wilson hit Theo Johnson in the end zone, where the second-year tight end made an athletic grab for the score.
A few plays later, Jameis Winston threw a beautiful pass deep down the sideline to Beaux Collins, who came down with the ball and outran the defense for a long touchdown. But that wasn't all we saw from Winston and Collins. During 11-on-11 drills in the final team period, the two connected on yet another deep touchdown pass, with Winston dropping the ball perfectly into Collins' hands as he beat the defender to the end zone.
Tommy DeVito also got in on the scoring on one of the final plays of practice when he found Montrell Washington open for a deep touchdown.
The Giants' safety trio of Jevn Holland, Tyler Nubin and Dane Belton have led the way in the takeaways department thus far this spring. The group added another ball to the turnover treasure chest when Holland intercepted a pass during 7-on-7s and returned it the other way.
The second takeaway of the day came from a slightly more unexpected source. During 11-on-11 drills, defensive lineman Chauncey Golston batted the ball at the line of scrimmage, which he was able to tip to himself and pull down for an interception.
Golston was one of several additions made to the defensive front this offseason, with his versatility to line up in several spots across the defensive line serving as a big plus. The 27-year-old is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he registered the first interception of his career, along with a new high-mark of five passes defensed (he totaled three pass breakups total in his first three seasons). Golston also set new career-highs in tackles (56), sacks (5.5), tackles for loss (five), and quarterback hits (eight) last season while starting 13 games for the Cowboys.
Wilson has been singing the praises of third-year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt ever since the veteran quarterback signed with the team in late March. The two have continued to develop their chemistry throughout the spring, and the connection was on full display Tuesday. Hyatt ran a great route toward the sideline during 7-on-7s, with Wilson hitting him in stride for a first down. Later in 11-on-11s, Wilson found Hyatt on another "moonball" pass deep down the field for a 50-yard gain. It didn't end there, though, as Wilson hit the young wideout near the sideline during the final 7-on-7 period, where Hyatt made a great back shoulder grab for a first down.
"Jalin Hyatt, he's a guy that I really believe in," Wilson told the media last week.
Theo Johnson wasn't the only tight end to get in on the action Tuesday. The trio of Johnson, Daniel Bellinger and Thomas Fidone II caught passes from all four quarterbacks in both 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s, with all three tight ends each making an impressive grab.
Lil'Jordan Humphrey put together a strong practice with three catches for big gains, two of which came from Jaxson Dart and the third from Winston. On the first pass from Dart, the rookie quarterback placed the ball where only his receiver could get it, and the veteran wideout made an athletic play to catch the ball and get both feet down in bounds.
On the defensive side of the ball, Paulson Adebo did a little of everything with a pass breakup during 7-on-7s and a sack during 11-on-11s.
Raheem Layne also had a pass breakup early in practice, while Cor'Dale Flott got his hands on the football near the end of the session.
Brian Burns continued his strong spring with another would-be sack during team drills.
